About Me

I am a licensed mental health counselor with over 8 years experience working with adults and children in a variety of settings including in-home, residential and transitional living. I am trained in Trauma Informed Care as well as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

Over the past few years I have spent time learning about how trauma impacts the brain and everyday life of children and families. Through that work I've learned many lessons including how therapy can be extremely rewarding yet put you in a very vulnerable state in which you are learning about yourself and making life changing decisions.

Part of my approach to therapy is to build a trusting relationship by being a great listener.  This approach enables me to listen for patterns and strengths that I can use to help individuals process and make quality decisions. By using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) we will identify unhealthy/unhelpful thoughts and work to create new health/helpful thoughts. It is my belief that our work should be collaborative in nature and I am there to help you with breaking down the issues and working together to develop outcomes and improve overall health and wellness. My moto is that everyone has the strength to overcome obstacles, it’s our job to work together to identify them and learn how to use them fully.
